This policy explains how Nexus Theory Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data collected through this website (nexustheory.co.uk). We are an independent game studio registered in the United Kingdom, at 8–12 Alder Hills, Poole, BH12 4AL. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
Information we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups — your email address, only if you choose to subscribe.
- Contact form — your name, email address and the message you send us.
- Technical data — our hosting/network provider processes limited technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to serve the site securely and prevent abuse.
Cookies & tracking
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. We load web fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google may receive your IP address in order to serve those fonts. Apart from that, data is only sent to a third party when you submit the newsletter or contact form.
How we use your data & our legal bases
- To send you studio updates (newsletter) — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- To respond to your enquiry (contact form) — on the basis of our legitimate interests in answering messages you send us.
- To keep the site secure and available — on the basis of our legitimate interests.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf under their own terms:
- MailerLite — manages newsletter subscriptions and emails (privacy policy).
- Web3Forms — delivers contact-form submissions to us by email (privacy policy).
- Google Workspace — our email, where we receive your messages (privacy policy).
- Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery and security (privacy policy).
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum).
How long we keep it
- Newsletter — until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Contact messages — for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected].
You also have the right to complain to the UK’s supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
